One of the leading city-centric music and entertainment companies in India, Radio Mirchi Kannada recently clinched the prestigious ECI Media Awards in the Electronic Media Category (Radio). This huge win marks a significant achievement in their impactful campaign efforts -Ee sala Vote Namde #BeraLutorsi.

Mirchi Kannada's voting campaign triumphs

On the occasion of the 14th National Voters' Day, the Election Commission of India (ECI) acknowledged and honoured Mirchi for its commendable efforts in promoting awareness about election processes. The recognition took place at Zorawar Auditorium in Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi.
Focused on the 2023 Karnataka Assembly Elections, Mirchi's award-winning campaign, Ee sala Vote Namde #BeraLutorsi, took a multi-channel approach, spanning radio, digital platforms, and on-ground activations, amplifying the crucial message of the significance of voting.
In collaboration with the Election Commission, Mirchi also organised on-air interviews featuring electoral officers, offering essential insights into voting procedures. Dynamic RJs hit the streets of Bengaluru, engaging with the public to gauge awareness of voting processes, understand sentiments, explore expectations from leaders, and motivate participation in the voting process.

The campaign's impact extended to various platforms, with Mirchi creating over fifty video pieces for all social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube channels. Renowned personalities such as Ramesh Aravind, Vasuki Vaibhav, Simple Suni, Dharma Vish, and Pramod Maravante joined forces with Mirchi, endorsing the campaign in videos.
In a unique musical collaboration, Mirchi also partnered with popular rappers Gubbi and Emmjee to compose a rap song for the campaign, adding a creative and resonant element to their message.
Apart from this Mirchi's RJs organised a flash mob, strategically using the rap song at bus stands, eateries, and shopping complexes, contributing to a substantial increase in voter turnout. The campaign proved highly effective, with an additional ten lakh people casting their votes compared to the 2018 elections, reflecting the tangible impact of Mirchi Kannada's comprehensive and innovative civic engagement initiative.
