Kolkata: Traffic Advisory Issued In Wake of PM Modi's Visit on May 11, 12; Check Restrictions

As per the advisory issued, all kinds of heavy goods vehicles shall be restricted to ply in and around Raj Bhawan from 06.00 am on Saturday to 11 pm on Sunday.

Kolkata: In wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kolkata this weekend, the traffic police have issued a detailed advisory of restrictions and timings when movement of vehicles is likely to be affected in the city. The restrictions have been announced for Saturday, May 11 and on Sunday, May 12.

Traffic Restrictions in Kolkata on Weekend

  • Movements of all types of Goods Vehicles shall be restricted in the city of Kolkata within Kolkata Police jurisdiction on the following roads from 17.30 hrs to 22.00 hrs on 11.05.2024 and again from 08.45 hrs to 13.00 hrs 12.05.2024 or till the journey of the VIP is over, in addition to the normal restrictions on the days.
  • Movement and parking of Vehicles of all descriptions and Carts of all descriptions including Tram Cars shall be regulated or restricted on the following roads and approaches during the above mentioned times and dates, according to the programme of the VVIP as and when considered necessary.
  • All Kinds of Heavy Goods Vehicles shall be restricted to ply in and around Raj Bhawan from 06.00 hrs on 11.05.2024 upto 22.00 hrs on 12.05.2024.
  • Vehicular traffic may also be diverted from any of the arterial roads and feeder roads by the Traffic Police on duty as and when considered necessary, according to the programmes of the VVIP.

2. From 08.45 hrs to 13.00 hrs on May 12 (Sunday) -
Raj Bhawan (South) Gate - R.R Avenue - Red Road - Jenson & Nicholson Island - Khidderpore Road-11 Furlong Gate - 2nd Hooghly Bridge.
