Google has announced its new mid-premium phone Pixel 8a in India at a starting price of Rs 52,999. The new Google phone comes with Tensor G3 chip and some AI features of the Pixel 8 series.

Google has officially announced the Pixel 8a in India, about one weak ahead of its developer I/O event where the phone was initially expected to be unveiled. The Pixel 8a is priced at Rs 52,999 which makes it the most affordable Pixel 8 series phone in the country. It is powered by company’s own Tensor G3 chip which was also used on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The phone also gets some AI features of the Pixel 8 series, including Google Gemini and gesture-driven Circle to Search.
Google has opened the pre-orders for the Pixel 8a on Flipkart in India and the sales are scheduled to begin on May 14 at 6:30 pm. The phone will be available in two storage configurations. The Pixel 8a price in India starts at Rs 52,999 for the 128GB storage variant while the 256GB storage variant will cost Rs 59,999. Both the variants will have 8GB of RAM and will be available in three colour options - Aloe, Bay, Obsidian, and Porcelain.
Google extends bank offers of up to Rs 4,000 and 12-month no-interest equated monthly instalment (no-cost EMI) plans with select bank cards. The consumers can avail a bonus of up to Rs 9,000, atop the exchange value of select smartphone models in trade-in deals. As part of the pre-order bundle, consumers have the option to secure the Pixel Buds A-series wireless earphones at a discounted price of Rs 999.

The Pixel 8a comes with a 6.1-inch FullHD OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. As mentioned earlier, the phone is powered by the Google Tensor G3 chip. The phone features a dual rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation (EIS), alongside a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 120-degree field-of-view (FoV). On the front, there is a 13-megapixel sensor.
The Pixel 8a incorporates an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking and supports face unlock via the front camera. Powered by a 4492mAh battery, the Pixel 8a is compatible with both wired and wireless (Qi) charging.
