Red Deer Polytechnic Student Dies On Campus, College Confirms In Email To Students

A student at Red Deer Polytechnic in Canada passed away on campus, as confirmed in an email sent to students by the institution. Kristine Plastow, the Dean of Students, issued a statement saying, "As we navigate this journey it is very important that we take care of one another, while respecting the privacy of the student's family and friends during this difficult time."

A student at Red Deer Polytechnic in Canada passed away on campus, as confirmed in an email sent to students by the institution. Reports state that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to a mental health call at the campus. The responding officers discovered a small fire at the base of the green sculpture of RDP’s logo near the main campus entrance. The fire was quickly put out, and an orange tarp was placed over the sculpture, with a six-foot fence erected around the area. Further details are currently unavailable.

"It is with great sadness that we confirm that a student recently passed away on campus. As we navigate this journey it is very important that we take care of one another, while respecting the privacy of the student's family and friends during this difficult time.
