London: Amid the sea of rumours surrounding the "disappearance" of Kate Middleton, Kensington Palace has shared a brief update on the whereabouts of the Princess of Wales.
Rumours about the whereabouts of the Princess of Wales ignited after Prince William cancelled his appearance at the memorial of his late godfather - King Constantine II of Greece - due to a "personal matter".
As obtained by NBC news, Kensington Palace has stated that the Princess of Wales has been recovering from an abdominal surgery she underwent last month.
"Princess of Wales, who is recovering from abdominal surgery, continues to be doing well," stated Kensington Palace.
Following Kate's operation, William postponed his official duties to take care of their three children - Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte. However, the Prince of Wales and heir to the throne had to return to his duties following King Charles' cancer diagnosis.
The palace added that the princess "hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private”.
The palace shared that the princess returned home after spending two weeks in recovery in the hospital. Kensington added that Kate is unlikely to return to her official duties before the Easter Holiday.
Kensington Palace's statement comes amid the sea of rumours regarding Kate's whereabouts. Netizens and Royal watchers raised their concerns regarding the "missing" princess who had not been seen in public since Christmas.
However, the palace has put a rest to all these rumours and clarified that the Princess of Wales is recovering from a scheduled surgery.
