Bengaluru: The garden city is renowned for various aspects. From its pleasant weather to the beautiful cherry blossom trees, Bangalore offers a delightful living experience. Adding to this, Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath has given another reason why this city is a great place to live.
He expressed his fondness for Bengaluru, despite acknowledging the challenges that residents face in the city often hailed as India's startup capital. In a recent podcast, Kamath lauded the city's inhabitants, pointing out each city's exceptional qualities and their unwavering love for Bengaluru.
"The big, big differentiator at the end of the day-- scr** all the roads, the traffic... those things don't matter -- the people of Bengaluru are second to none (because of) the love they have for the city, how nice they are as people," Kamath talked about the love citizens have for Bangalore.
While praising other major Indian cities for their distinctive attributes, such as Hyderabad's renowned Biryani, Mumbai's "good-looking people," and Delhi's affluent residents, Kamath singled out Bengaluru for its "nice people."
Describing Bengaluru's populace as welcoming, "normal," understated, and subtle, Kamath talked about the city's allure for startups, citing the abundant talent pool available at competitive costs.
"If you have to build something, if you have to start a company, the access to talent at the cost you get in Bengaluru, I don't think you get that anywhere in the world," he complimented the city's unparalleled resources for entrepreneurial ventures.
Kamath also revealed his interactions with prominent business figures in Bengaluru, including Biocon executive chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, as reported by HT. "We are constantly working on projects to... how do we make Bangalore cooler in actual and from a narrative standpoint," Kamath disclosed, indicating a commitment to enhancing Bengaluru's vibrancy and attractiveness as a hub for innovation and enterprise.
Meanwhile, Biocon chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw saw a video on social media showing a lot of garbage on Outer Ring Road and showed her disappointment on X. She urged BBMP to take some action immediately.
She tweeted, ''Disgusting sight. @BBMPSWMSplComm needs to act swiftly to clean up this ugly mess,'' The video quickly spread online, leading many social media users to call for urgent action from the authorities. While some blamed the city officials for the messy situation, others recognized that similar problems exist in many cities nationwide, with citizens sharing responsibility. Nonetheless, some voices talked about the importance of citizens taking greater responsibility for proper waste disposal practices.
