Ghaziabad: 3 Die After Being Run Over By Train In Loni, 2nd Mishap In City In One Day

Ghaziabad: Three people died after a train run over them in the Loni area of the city in Uttar Pradesh in the early hours on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Asif (26), Guddu (20) and Devesh (26). Their bodies were found the railway track on the Delhi-Shamli route at around 5:30 am. This occurred on a day when the city witnessed another accident where four people died and 18 were hurt after a truck hit a canter carrying 35 people.
"The bodies of Asif (26) and Guddu (20), both residents of Sangam Vihar of Loni Border police station area, and Devesh (26) of Dadri town of Gautam Budh Nagar district were found on the railway track on the Delhi-Shamli route," Assistant Commissioner of Police Ankur Vihar Bhaskar Verma said, quoted PTI.
The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem. The report stated that Devesh and Guddu drove e-rickshaws in Loni while Asif was a daily wager.
In another incident, at least four people died while many others got injured after a truck hit them late in night on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. The incident took place at around 1:30 am late Saturday night near Rewada Rewari police station, Muradnagar. The truck was going towards Hardoi from Haryana's Sonipat was carrying brick kiln workers. Most of the workers are said to be from Hardoi and Shahjahanpur.
According to information, the truck hit the stationary canter killing four people and injuring 18 others. The injured included Maya Devi (45), Irshad (20), Jumman (60), and Shabina (20). People had got down to urinate when the truck coming from behind hit them.
During the collision, 35 people were present in the canter of which, nine were seriously injured. They were all referred to nearby hospital for treatment.
