All Ages Pickleball: Las Vegas Tournament Attracts Thousands In Growing Sport

A popular week-long pickleball tournament in Las Vegas attracts players of all ages and across the US. It serves as a qualifier for the nationals and highlights the sport's growing popularity in the region.

People from all around the country have gathered in the valley for a pickleball competition, a sport that is becoming increasingly popular in the region.
Bill Green, a New York native who has resided in Las Vegas for three years, said, "Popularity is crazy; there are so many new players every week. Courts are going up everywhere."
Sunday is the concluding day of the week-long USA Pickleball Tournament at the Sunset Park Pickleball Complex. Lance Cowart of USA Pickleball noted, "This is a path to nationals, so this is a qualifying tournament that will take place in November of this year."
Players are showing their abilities in the hopes of earning a "golden ticket." Bill Green went on to say, "Trying to get a golden ticket to get into the nationals at Arizona in November."
Every court was full, with over a thousand participants from throughout the United States registering to compete in the competition. It's a sport in which individuals of all ages may engage. This year's tournament had children and adults aged 12-80 competing.
Las Vegan Kylie Sanko is 14 years old and an enthusiastic pickleball player. She added, "It's addictive. It is an addictive sport. It's enjoyable to play. She came to the tournament to watch and support her friends. "I enjoy pickleball more than any sport, I make a lot of friends playing it."
She also stated how wonderful it is to play here in the valley. "There are a lot of people around my age that play pickleball, so it's easy to find people to play with. For example, when there are no tournaments, there are lots of people to play with in Durango or Lone Mountain."
The USA Pickleball Tournament is a qualifying tournament for the nationals in Arizona. Over a thousand participants from throughout the United States participated in the week-long competition. People of all ages enjoy playing pickleball, and it is easy to find people to play within the area.
