New Delhi: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy hit out at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday over the demolition of the YSR Congress Party’蝉 under-construction central office in Guntur’蝉 Tadepalli by municipal authorities. The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) had issued a notice to the opposition party regarding the alleged illegal construction.
The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) approached the High Court on Friday, challenging the CRDA notice. The party claimed that the court had ordered a halt to any demolition activity and that this order was communicated to the CRDA Commissioner by the YSRCP's lawyer.
In a post on X, Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote, “In Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu took his Damanakanda to a new level. A dictator bulldozed the nearly completed YSRC Party central office at Tadepalli.”
“The orders of the High Court were ignored. Law and justice have completely disappeared in the state,” he added.
The former Chief Minister accused the TDP Chief of resorting to political vendetta. Reddy stated that through these actions, Naidu was sending a clear message about what his regime would be like for the next five years.
“Chandrababu, who is shedding blood due to the violent incidents that are taking place after the elections, has given a violent message about how the regime is going to be for these five years through this incident. These threats, these acts of violence, YSRCP have no bow, no turning back,” he wrote on X.
Further, he promised to stand up for the people and called on all democratic forces in the country to “condemn the misdeeds” of Chandrababu Naidu.
Earlier on June 15, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) demolished certain structures on the pavement next to the Lotus Pond residence of Jagan Mohan Reddy. The demolition took place 10 days after Reddy stepped down as Chief Minister.
According to a senior GHMC official, the structures were removed to carry out tiling work on the pavement at Jagan's residence. YSR Congress Party sources told the news agency PTI that the structures were temporary and were mainly for the convenience of security personnel during rain and summer.
