A giant tornado was spotted in Indiana's Georgetown on Tuesday. This comes in the aftermath of multiple warnings flagged by the National Weather Service (NWS) of a possible twister heading towards Evansville, Portage, Bedford, Boonville, Newburgh, and Melody Hill. The weather service in its latest alert warned of rotation and possible tornado heading towards Evansville.
The NWS took to social sites warnings residents of Indiana cities of a tornado building up in the region. "Tornado Warning continues for Evansville IN, Boonville IN and Melody Hill IN until 3:00 PM CDT," the weather agency wrote on X through its official handle.
Meanwhile, the NWS' Paducah Kentucky office confirmed of a "possible tornado developing," in Evansville, Indiana Tuesday afternoon. The NWS in its latest warning wrote, "4/2/24 232pm: Rotation heading toward Evansville, IN. Possible tornado developing. Take cover now."
Meanwhile, several storm chasters also made time lapse videos from Evansville showing severe weather and storm moving through the city.

Weather In Indiana

The NWS' weather forecast for the state suggests that there is a high possibility of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 5 pm, per local time. Some storms predicted could be severe, with heavy rain and high near 71. "Breezy, with a south southwest wind around 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 per cent," the NWS added in its forecast. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected before night except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
By the time the skies turn darker tonight, showers and thunderstorms are likely to mainly remain before 7 pm, per local time. Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 38. Breezy, with a west wind 16 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60 per cent. However, the new precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
