Noida: In a late-night operation, Noida police cracked down on a party held at a farmhouse in Sector-135, detaining over half a dozen people, including two women, for allegedly serving liquor and hookah without proper permission. The raid, initiated based on information received via a social media post, took place within the jurisdiction of the Expressway Police Station on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
According to officials, the police team acted swiftly after coming across a viral video on various social media platforms, which indicated an illegal farmhouse event was in progress. Additional DCP Manish Kumar Mishra stated, "We received information from sector 135. A video had gone viral on social media that a party was being organised illegally, following which a team was sent."
Upon arrival at the farmhouse, police discovered numerous outsiders attending the party, with organisers reportedly serving liquor without authorization. Despite claims of it being a launch party for a song, further investigation revealed irregularities, including the presence of illegal hookahs and smoking materials in large quantities.
Several individuals, including two women, were detained, with their identities currently being verified. Additional DCP Mishra confirmed, "Two women and a few men have been detained and their identities are being ascertained. They have been taken to the police station, and an inquiry has been initiated. Further action will be taken accordingly.”
Further inquiries revealed that the farmhouse owners had not obtained the necessary temporary or occasional licence for hosting such an event. Authorities are now proceeding with appropriate legal actions against the organisers and detainees involved in the unauthorised party.
