Director Shashank on Wednesday announced that he was reuniting with actor Darling Krishna, who is celebrating his birthday today, for a Pan-India project that is set to go on floors in August. The director has directed and produced Kousalya Supraja Rama, starring Darling Krishna. Times Now speaks to the filmmaker on his upcoming Pan-India project.

Director Shashank debuted as a director with the film Sixer in 2008, which was produced by the legendary Ramoji Rao under his banner Ushakiran Movies. Sixer introduced actor Prajwal Devaraj, son of senior Kannada actor Devaraj. Following Sixer, Shashank delivered several hit films including his latest Kousalya Supraja Rama in 2023 which features Darling Krishna in the lead.
On the occasion of Darling Krishna’s birthday today, Shashank has announced his next film with the actor. And, this time, the two are going Pan-India. In an exclusive interview with Times Now, Shashank gives a sneak peek into his big venture and more.

Universal Thriller

Following the huge success of Kousalya Supraja Rama, director Shashank has announced his next with Darling Krishna on a bigger scale.
“Darling Krishna and I are reuniting for a Pan-India project. It's going to be a universal thriller. Unlike other thrillers which are based on crime, suspense, psychology or horror, my latest one is aimed at every section of the audience. Along with thriller elements, it will also have the trademark feature of emotions, which the family audience has always appreciated in all my previous ventures,” shares Shashank.
This is not the first time the director has ventured into action. His collaboration with Kichcha Sudeep for Bachchan was an action thriller and even his Love 360 was based on similar lines with emotions embedded in the tale.

Primarily In Kannada

The director adds that his next will be primarily made in Kannada with dubbed versions being simultaneously released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
“The script work is over and we will soon kickstart pre-production. We are planning to hit the floors in the final week of August. We are aiming for release in the summer of 2025. Also, on the day of launch, we will announce the release date,” Shashank informs.
He further explains that apart from Darling Krishna, no other cast and crew member had been finalised yet.
“Krishna will play the lead. This time, we will cast an actor from another language to play the antagonist. Also, we will be introducing a new girl as the female lead. This one is being produced by Dolphin Enterprises which made First Rank Raju,” Shashank says, adding that the urban subject is set in present times.
He signs off by saying that he believes in a content-driven subject that all sections of the audience can relate to by themselves, rather than deliberately tweaking the subject to make it fit into the pan-Indian bracket.
