The queen was back in her hometown—Ujjain. The newly crowned Femina Miss India World 2024, Nikita Porwal, returned as the first-ever titleholder from Madhya Pradesh. Crowds gathered outside Indore Airport, cheering as she appeared, while flower petals rained down in her honour. Minister Tulsiram Silawat welcomed her with a bouquet, saying, “With dedication and hard work, she has brought unparalleled glory to Madhya Pradesh.”
From Indore, she travelled to her hometown, Ujjain, where her mother and grandmother waited at their family home in Arvind Nagar to welcome her with a traditional aarti, pride evident as they performed the ritual. Community members cheered her and children in her locality performed dances in honour of Nikita's return.
The highlight of her homecoming was a visit to the Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, fulfilling a personal promise. Only VIPs can access the temple’s Garbhagriha (innermost sanctuary of temples), and Nikita had longed to bring her parents there. “If I win, I’ll take them there—that’s the very first thing I’ll do when I return,” she had promised herself. Witnessing her parents’ joy as they entered the sacred space filled her with a profound sense of fulfilment. She took blessings from the priests, her faith grounding her for the journey ahead.
She then went for darshan at Shri Chintaman Ganesh Temple, where she shared the gratitude for her victory. She was accompanied by her family members, as she prayed for guidance and success on the road to the Miss World stage.
Ujjain had come alive with celebrations as a grand procession with the newly crowned Femina Miss India World 2024 made its way through the city. She travelled through the city, riding a BMW and proudly waved the National flag. Cheers and showers of flowers from her supporters greeted her. Nikita's inspiring words from the Miss India stage echoed through the streets, played on loudspeakers as the procession wound its way towards the ISKCON Temple.
At the ISKCON Temple, Nikita joined in the aarti with her sister. In a gesture of honour, the temple presented her with a painting of Lord Krishna, symbolising blessings for her journey ahead. The evening ended with a serene sense of purpose.
The celebrations peaked with a gala dinner bringing together family, friends, and local luminaries. Dressed exquisitely, Nikita graced the red carpet as Ujjain’s proud star. The evening included a heartfelt cake-cutting ceremony, photo sessions, and warm interactions, leaving her guests with memories of joy and admiration.
Nikita’s next visit was to her alma mater, Carmel Convent School, where the nuns and staff welcomed her warmly. The school band performed as she lit a ceremonial lamp, followed by a soulful choir and a lively dance from students. The principal’s heartfelt speech honouring her achievements was met with applause and pride.
At Bhartiya Gyanpeeth School, she was greeted with a teeka and spirited dances by the students. After the aarti, she engaged in a Q&A session, sharing insights with students and answering their questions about her journey and dreams.
During a press conference at the Rudraksh Hotel, Nikita expressed her gratitude. “Winning Femina Miss India 2024 feels like a dream,” she said. “I am overjoyed and deeply grateful for this opportunity to represent the beauty, strength, and spirit of India. This crown belongs to everyone who believed in me. Here’s to inspiring others and making this journey unforgettable.”
The celebrations featured a lively cultural programme hosted by the Rangrez group, where Nikita joined as a beloved member. The event opened with an art installation capturing the moment of her crowning. Young girls performed a captivating dance, beautifully showcasing India’s rich cultural diversity. One of the most memorable parts of the evening was Nikita’s portrayal of Maa Shipra; with grace and presence, she brought the revered deity to life, leaving the audience spellbound and earning heartfelt applause.
