Vande Bharat Train Between Jamnagar-Ahmedabad To Be Launched On Sept 24

Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off the Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express on Sunday, September 24. According to Railways, this will be Gujarat’s third Vande Bharat train. Notably, the prime minister will be flagging off eight other such trains for different states as well.
At present, three Vande Bharat trains ply under Western Railway. These include Mumbai Central-Gandhinagar Capital, Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)-Jodhpur and Indore-Bhopal.
The official statement further read that the railway is committed to providing better facilities and amenities to ensure a comfortable journey to passengers.
“Vande Bharat trains are very popular among passengers and there is great enthusiasm for running more such trains in the country,” the statement continued.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday said a high-speed train will start plying between Sanand and Ahmedabad in the next six months.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony of semiconductor company Micron's plant in Sanand, the railway minister said Vande Bharat Express trains will also halt at Sanand.
"A world class train will start between Ahmedabad to Sanand. The high-speed train will start very soon, in the next six months,” he said.
Eight new Vande Bharat trains will run on these routes:
1. Jaipur-Udaipur
2. Puri-Rourkela
3. Ptna-Howrah
4. Indore-Jaipur
5. Jaipur-Chandigarh
6. Chennai-Tirunelveli
7. Hyderabad-Bengaluru
8. Kasaragod-Trivandrum
With the addition of nine Vande Bharat trains on Sunday, the number of these trains running across India will go up to 34.
Although the new Vande Bharat trains are being flagged off, the Railway Ministry is lagging behind its targeted timeline of running 75 Vande Bharat trains till August this year.
