Dharwad: In an exclusive interview with Times Now, Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Karnataka’s Dharwad constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, Pralhad Joshi, spoke on the fondest memory of his career. The four-time MP from the Dharwad constituency stated that he is confident of the party’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to Times Now about the fondest memory of his career, the Union Minister said, “I recall the time when Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, the national president of BJP, gave me a call and asked me to hoist the national flag in public spaces. At that time, there was a traffic island here and I decided to hoist the national flag there. But authorities suggested I do it in Eidgah Maidan. Then after four days they said that permission had been denied.”
He added, “The authorities said that some people were opposing the decision. I said I will hoist. At that time, there was a lathi charge, we were all beaten and taken to jail. After that, for more than three and a half years, we could not hoist the national flag but we used to forcibly enter…I had led such a lengthy agitation and then in 1995, the Congress government was thrown out due to the same cause. Then on January 26 (Republic Day) in 1996, we hoisted the national flag there. That was the proudest moment for me.”
