Vijayawada: Following India’s heartbreaking defeat in the ICC World Cup 2023 Final against Australia, a 35-year-old techie from Andhra Pradesh died. As per local reports, the Andhra man died of a heart attack shortly after India lost to Australia by six wickets.
The 35-year-old man, identified as Jyotish Kumar Yadav, was a software engineer. The techie was with a group of friends for the world cup finals. He had returned home for the Diwali holidays and was with family and friends when he passed away.
As per reports, soon after the match was over, Yadav complained of chest pain and collapsed to the floor. He was rushed by his friends to the Sri Venkatestwara Ramanarain Ruia government hospital in Tirupati, where he was declared dead by the doctors on call.
His friends described that Yadav had become tense and anxious when the Indian batting was over, and the team was all out for 240 runs. His friends went on to add that Jyotish was fine and elated with joy when the Australian team took three wickets, but as Australia leaped closer to the target, he started complaining of chest pain.
Mohith Reddy, the chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority visited Yadav’s house and offered his condolences to his family. Reddy also reached out to the family and offered them support from the state government following the tragic loss.

Team Australia became the champions of the ICC World Cup for the sixth time o November 19, 2023. The final match was played against India, who had been on a winning streak and won all 10 matches played in Round Robin and the Semi Finals with New Zealand.
The final match was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium at Ahmedabad and was attended by PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles and other dignitaries and celebrities.
