Five individuals, including two doctors from AIIMS Rishikesh, were arrested for allegedly helping candidates cheat in the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test for Doctor of Medicine (MD) by providing solutions via instant messaging during the exam. The arrests took place in Rishikesh, with police seizing electronic devices and other evidence. An investigation is ongoing to identify any additional suspects involved in the scheme.

Dehradun: Five individuals, including two doctors from AIIMS Rishikesh, were taken into custody by the police on Sunday night for allegedly helping candidates to cheat in the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test for Doctor of Medicine (MD), held by AIIMS. The arrests took place in a car near the barrage road in Rishikesh.
The arrests, according to Dehradun SSP Ajai Singh, involved Dr. Ajit Singh, 44, of Jind, Haryana; Dr. Vaibhav Kashyap, 23, of Patiala, Punjab; Aman Shivach, 24, of Rohtak, Haryana; Vipul Gaura, 31, and Jayant, 22, both of Hisar, Haryana. The arrested individuals allegedly helped three candidates at an exam center in Himachal Pradesh to solve the question paper via an instant messaging app during the exam, which was held on Sunday.
“Three suspects in Kangra struck a deal worth Rs 50 lakh with two doctors, offering them Rs 2 lakh each in exchange for their help in solving the paper."The three candidates paid half the total money, or Rs. 25 lakh, up front; the remaining payment will be released on May 25 following the results announcement. Through the app, the candidates submitted pictures of the question paper, and the doctor responded through the same medium.” stated Singh.
Following the arrests, police confiscated three tablets, several mobile phones, two medical course books, and a card used by the accused. Singh added that investigation to identify any additional suspects involved in the cheating scheme is on.
