New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Monday hit out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders' claim that the former DCW chief was blackmailed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as she faced corruption charges. Maliwa said that the Delhi Minister were spreading lies. The AAP MP further said that until she filed a complaint against Bibhav Kumar, she was “Lady Singham” and today she has become a "BJP agent".
"Since yesterday, Delhi ministers are spreading lies that an FIR has been filed against me for corruption, hence I did all this on the instructions of BJP. This FIR was lodged eight years ago in 2016 after which both the CM and LG appointed me as the Chairperson of the Women's Commission twice after that. The case is completely fake on which the Hon'ble High Court has stayed for 1.5 years and it has observed that no money transaction has taken place," Maliwal said in her X post.
"The entire troll army was deployed against me just because I spoke the truth. Everyone in the party is being called and told to send Swati's personal video if they have one, as it has to be leaked. They're putting my relatives' lives in danger by tweeting their details using their car numbers,' she added.

Swati Maliwal's Tweet:
"According to them (AAP leaders), until I filed a complaint against Bibhav Kumar, I was “Lady Singham” and today I have become a BJP agent?" Maliwal further stated.
On May 13, Maliwal alleged that she was assaulted by Bibhav Kumar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's former personal assistant, at the CM's residence. The Rajya Sabha MP reached the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on Thursday night after the police filed an FIR on the basis of a formal complaint against Delhi CM's close aide.
Shortly after filing the FIR, the Delhi police team took Swati Maliwal to AIIMS where she complained of severe pain after undergoing a medical examination, sources had told Times Now. She was at AIIMS for four hours, after which she was referred to the Trauma Centre.
On Friday, Bibhav Kumar also filed a police complaint against the AAP MP alleging that she breached the security of the CM's residence.
While speaking to PTI videos, Delhi Minister Atishi claimed that Maliwal was "blackmailed" by the BJP to hatch a "conspiracy" against Kejriwal as the former DCW chief faces arrest in an illegal recruitment case.
In 2016, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) filed an FIR against Maliwal in connection with the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) recruitment scam case
