Upcoming Mumbai-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express: Route, Timings, Schedule And More Details

Mumbai: The Indian Railways is set to launch its third Vande Bharat Express train, which will soon begin operations on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. The train, manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, has completed a 15,000 km trial journey to ensure its readiness for service.
This new Vande Bharat train promises to be more energy-efficient and comfortable than its predecessors on the New Delhi-Varanasi and New Delhi-Katra routes. The train is designed to set a new standard in energy efficiency, passenger comfort, and safety features.

Route Map:

The train will make stops at:
  • Ahmedabad
  • Vadodara
  • Surat
  • Vapi
  • Borivali
  • Mumbai Central

Features and Upgrades:

The train will sport a blue and white colour scheme and include AC chair cars and executive chair cars. It will have four platform-side cameras, including rear-view cameras, and use higher-efficiency compressors with UV lamps for a germ-free air supply. Additionally, the train will have improved heat ventilation and air-conditioning control. The Coach Control Management System will allow better monitoring and feedback, while each coach will have a 32″ display to enhance passenger experience.

Speed and Travel Time:

The new Vande Bharat Express will have improved acceleration and deceleration, reaching 160 kmph in 140 seconds, reducing travel time by approximately 45 minutes. The journey between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is expected to take around 5 hours and 25 minutes.

Schedule and Timings:

The Vande Bharat Express on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route will operate six days a week, excluding Sundays. The schedule is as follows:
- Ahmedabad to Mumbai Central (Train No. 22962): Departs at 06:10 am and arrives at 11:35 am.
- Mumbai Central to Ahmedabad (Train No. 22961): Departs at 3:55 pm and arrives at 9:25 pm.
With the successful completion of its final trial, the new Vande Bharat Express on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route is poised to offer a faster, safer, and more comfortable journey for passengers. The official announcement of its launch is expected soon.
