New Delhi: The owner of the bar where the 17-year-old boy consumed alcohol before mowing two people with his Porsche car is among those arrested by the Pune police today, taking the total arrests to three. The bar manager who served liquor to the boy is also in police custody. Earlier, the father of the minor was arrested from Aurangabad, about 230 kms from Pune.
The teenager is out on bail; he was granted bail 15 hours after he was arrested. The 17-year-old is four months short of turning 18.
The police have said they will move a higher court for permission to try the teenager involved in the accident as an adult.

  1. The teenager's father, a prominent real estate developer, has been charged under Section 75 (which deals with "willful neglect of a child) and Section 77 (which deals with supplying a child with intoxicating liquor or drugs) of the Juvenile Justice Act.
  2. According to the FIR , the man, despite knowing his son did not have a driving license, gave him the car, thus endangering the latter's life. The police also stated that the man allowed him to party even though he knew that his son consumes liquor.
  3. The owner of Cosie bar and his staff members have also been charged for serving alcohol to an underage person. The teenager reportedly visited the bar to celebrate his Class 12 results with friends. CCTV footage from the bar showed him sitting at a table crowded with alcohol bottles.
  4. The teenager drove the Porsche car despite being heavily under the influence of alcohol. The luxury car was reportedly being driven at 200 kmph when it hit the two motorbike riders in Kalyani Nagar area in the early hours of Sunday, causing their death, as per officials.
  5. The two riders -- Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa, both 24-year-old IT professionals were from Madhya Pradesh, the police said.
  6. The teenager was caught by the locals and handed over to the police, who subsequently produced him before the Juvenile Justice Board. He was granted bail hours later.
  7. He was granted bail on the conditions that he visit the Regional Transport Office and study traffic rules. The teenager has been asked to submit a presentation to the Board within 15 days.
  8. "The CCL (Child in Conflict with Law) will write an essay of 300 words on the topic of road accidents and their solutions," the order read.
