A man took to Instagram to share his harrowing experience with Kellogg's Chocos. The user posted a video that showed a live worm crawling in Chocos. In the viral clip, he breaks the pieces to reveal tiny bugs inside the cereal, saying, 'Extra protein aaya kya?' [Did I get extra protein?]. The Instagram user explained that his little sister had complained of an unpleasant taste, prompting him to investigate. To his dismay, he discovered worms inside the cereal. He emphasized that the product was not near the expiry date and was stored in a cool place.
Reacting to the post, the company apologized to the man, writing, 'We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to you. Our Consumer Affairs team will get in touch with you to understand your concern. Please inbox us your contact details.' The man later shared an update on February 10, stating, 'No response from their side.'
Here's how netizens reacted:
'Damn, I've gotten a few live worms from this same product many years ago. Years ago, when social media wasn't that common. The very day I stopped having Chocos. Can't believe they still sell products with worms!' wrote an Instagram user. 'I had the same issue once,' added another. 'New fear unlocked,' joined a third.
The incident comes just days after a man from Hyderabad posted about finding a live worm inside a Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate, triggering massive backlash from social media users.
'Found a worm crawling in Cadbury chocolate purchased in Ratnadeep Metro Ameerpet today. Is there a quality check for these near-to-expiry products? Who is responsible for public health hazards?' Zaccheus wrote on Friday."
