In a video that is going viral on social media, passengers were seen sleeping inside the toilets of an overcrowded Kerala Express train. The video, shared by journalist Mohammed Zubair, shows several people sleeping in the pathway leading towards the toilets. In the cramped space, one man was observed sleeping precariously inside the washroom. The video has garnered thousands of views and numerous comments. The caption of the viral clip stated: "Kerala Express - Train no. 12625 (Shared on Instagram on March 26th)."
Several users took to the comment section to seek a response from the Railway department. A user wrote: "Unbelievable. They are being treated worse than animals."
Another commenter expressed: "So disgusting and pathetic @RailMinIndia."
Here's the viral video:
A third user wrote to @AshwiniVaishnaw, saying: "Sir, not all Indians travel on Vande Bharat and Bullet trains!! Crores travel on these trains... some action here for the masses will be appreciated."
The video surfaced shortly after a man voiced his frustration over a jam-packed AC coach on the Kashi Expressway. One man took to the microblogging site X to share how overcrowded the train was, leaving no space to even walk. The passenger, who had booked a seat in the 2nd AC coach of the Kashi Express, claimed that the compartment was completely blocked by ticketless passengers.
The X user reported that people were standing outside the washroom doors, causing problems for those trying to access the lavatory area. They tagged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and other authorities, urging them to take necessary action. "Ashwini Vaishnaw, sir, please look at the situation in the 2nd tier AC. No food, no water. There's no space to go to the washroom. The AC isn't working, and the door is open. Please take action," the passenger wrote.
