- Clash at the Castle will take place in Scotland
The WWE action will move to Scotland later this week and the company will be staging two shows at Ovo Hydro. The venue will host the Smackdown, which will be followed by Clash at the Castle 2024. The first instalment of the show was a success and the fans are eager to once again get the same experience. WWE also hosted Money in the Bank 2023 in the UK.
Drew McIntyre will challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship while Cody Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against AJ Styles. Bayley will defend her women's championship at the show. Ahead of the premium live event, we have a look at 3 WWE superstars who could make a surprise return at Clash at the Castle 2024 -
Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns could be the biggest superstar who could return at Clash at the Castle 2024. The former Undisputed Universal Champion has been off the WWE TV since Wrestlemania 40, where he lost his title to Cody Rhodes. The fans are eagerly waiting for Roman to make his WWE return and "we want Roman" chants are now regular on Smackdown.
Roman might not face Cody upon his return and he is expected to be part of the Bloodline storyline. Solo Sikoa has become the leader of the new Bloodline in Roman's absence and he used Roman's finishing move, spear, on last week's Smackdown.
CM Punk
CM Punk could once again play his part during a Drew McIntyre match and cost him the World Heavyweight Championship. Drew will challenge Damian Priest for the title. Since McIntyre has been teasing Punk since injuring him, the former WWE Champion could return and cost McIntyre during his title match.
McIntyre won the title by defeating Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 40 but his title reign lasted just over 5 minutes. He teased Punk, who was doing commentary during the show. Damian came out running with his Money in the Bank briefcase and cashed it on the newly-crowned champion to become a one-time World Champion. While Drew is finally expected to win the title at his home, Punk's interruption cannot be ruled out.
The Rock
How about The Rock making a return and attacking Cody Rhodes? The People's Champion hinted at a future match with Cody on Raw after Wrestlemania 40 and the match between them could also take place at SummerSlam. The buildup to that match, if it is in plans, could start at Clash at the Castle.
While the chances of The Rock appearing at Clash at the Castle are bleak, an appearance by him cannot be completely ruled out. The Rock is all but confirmed to compete at Wrestlemania 41 if he does not face Cody at SummerSlam 2024.
