RCB vs CSK Bengaluru Weather Forecast: Rain Threat Looms Large On Must-Win Clash

RCB is set to take on CSK at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 18. This is a must-win game for both teams in terms of IPL 2024 playoff qualification. However, there is rain predicted in the city on Saturday. Let us look at the Bengaluru weather forecast for May 18.

Rain could play spoilsport as Royal Challengers Bengaluru eye an IPL 2024 playoff berth. The Faf du Plessis-led side are all set to face off against Chennai Super Kings in a must-win game. RCB had a poor start to the IPL 2024 where they lost seven out of the first eight matches, however, the team scripted a remarkable turnaround and won the following five games to revive their campaign. As things stand, if RCB can beat CSK by 18 runs or more or chase the target in 18.1 overs, they will have a great chance of qualifying for the IPL 2024 playoffs as it will help them leapfrog CSK in terms of net run rate.
The match will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 18, however, the city is set to witness heavy rainfall in the coming days.

RCB vs CSK Bengaluru Weather Report For May 18

As per AccuWeather, the weather on Saturday will be 'overcast with a couple of showers and a thunderstorm in the afternoon'. The precipitation chance stands at a whopping 73 percent. The forecast could get better or worse as there are still a few days left before the all-important game.
A washout will do no good to RCB as the team will be knocked out of the playoff race. RCB currently have 12 points to their tally and a win will take them to 14 points. CSK will also be stuck on 14 points should they lose to RCB. A win by 18 or more runs or chasing the target in 18.1 overs will help RCB topple CSK in terms of run rate and thus qualify for the playoffs. If SRH win one of their remaining games, they will qualify as the fourth team and CSK will be knocked out. LSG and DC don't have much hope of qualifying given their inferior run rate. However, they are not technically out of the race. Defeats for SRH in two games clubbed with a massive win for LSG over Mumbai Indians could get LSG back in contention, however, the situation looks very unlikely at the moment.
Meanwhile, if the rain washes out the contest, CSK will go through the playoffs as they will reach 15 points. KKR have already confirmed a top-two finish. If RR could win both their remaining games, they will also cement a place in Qualifier 1. However, if they lose one game and SRH win both their following matches, RR could slip to third, with SRH booking a Qualifier 1 clash with KKR. As of now, multiple scenarios are possible and we will get a clear picture by the end of this week.
