India will maintain the No. 1 position if they manage to get the better of England in the fifth Test, which starts on Thursday (March 7) in Dharamsala.
But if the match ends in a draw or India suffers a defeat, then both New Zealand and Australia will have a chance of replacing India and taking the No. 1 position in the WTC 2023-25 points table.
The second and final Test of the ongoing two-match series between the Trans-Tasman rivals is scheduled to take place at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch and will start on Friday (March 8).
