India and Pakistan will lock horns in the blockbuster encounter of the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. India have historically enjoyed tremendous success over Pakistan in ICC events, however, Pakistan managed to break the losing streak when the Babar Azam-led side thrashed Virat Kohli-led India by 10 wickets in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. India though bounced back to beat Pakistan in the 2022 edition. However, it was a close contest and needed a special inning from Virat Kohli to help the Men in Blue get over the line. Kohli scored 82 in 53 balls as India chased 160 with four wickets to spare.
Meanwhile, ahead of the blockbuster affair in New York, the cricket pundits got their prediction cap on for the India vs Pakistan clash. The latest to join the bandwagon is former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal. The 42-year-old when asked to pick the winner between India and Pakistan, sided with the Rohit Sharma-led side.
"Definitely India," posted Akmal on his Instagram story in response to his prediction about India vs Pakistan winner.

Meanwhile, most of the T20 World Cup bound Indian players have already reached the USA and started their preparations for the T20 World Cup. Pakistan, on the other hand, are still in England, playing a four match series. However, they haven't been able to play much cricket on the tour due to bad weather conditions as the first and third T20I of the series was washed out due to rain.
India and Pakistan are placed in Group A of the T20 World Cup. India will open their campaign on June 5 against Ireland before playing Pakistan. The team will take on the USA on June 12 and Canada on June 15. Pakistan, on the other hand, will play Canada on June 6. After the high-profile battle with India, Pakistan will play USA on June 11 and Ireland on June 16.
India and Pakistan need to ensure a top-two finish in the group to qualify for the Super 8s. The T20 World Cup gets underway on June 1, with USA taking on Canada in the opener.
