Chennai Super Kings (CSK) did not qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs after being defeated by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in one of the most thrilling encounters in the competition this season. MS Dhoni was the one who took the game till the last over alongside Ravindra Jadeja and almost took his team to qualification with a six in the last over's first ball. However, he got out and the game landed in the lap of RCB. Now, the speculation on everyone's mind is whether MS Dhoni will announce his retirement after CSK is knocked out. Now, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has dropped a big update regarding Dhoni's future.
In an interaction with The Indian Express, Viswanathan informed that there were no discussions in the dressing room regarding MS Dhoni's retirement. They have never asked him about his future and neither did Dhoni say anything about it. The management will only make a decision when Dhoni informs them something, and until then they would not interfere in the matter.
“There were no discussions in the dressing room about it. We have never asked him about his future and neither has he said anything about it. When he takes a decision, he will inform us, until then we will not interfere,” he said.
According to a report by IANS, MS Dhoni might head to London to undergo a surgery for the muscle tear in his leg. He will only decide about his future after treatment, which will take him a minimum of five to six months to recover.
“Dhoni might head to London for his muscle tear surgery which saw him struggling during the IPL. He is not fully fit but wants to continue to play cricket and he will only decide about his future after treatment which will take him five to six months to recover,” he added.
