Seth Rollins gave it all at Wrestlemania 40 despite an injured knee and participated in two matches at the Show of the Shows. The WWE veteran teamed up with Cody Rhodes against The Rock and Roman Reigns in the main event of Wrestlemania on Saturday. He opened Wrestlemania Sunday and lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre.
Rollins left his fans worried as he was struggling to get into the ring after the main event of Wrestlemania Sunday. Two weeks after the show, Becky Lynch confirmed that Seth underwent a knee surgery.
There is no official update on Seth's comeback date and it remains to be seen if he can return to action by SummerSlam or not. Amid his absence from WWE, Seth has made his first public appearance since Wrestlemania 40.
The two-time Grand Slam Champion was at the Kentucky Derby Red Carpet on Saturday (May 4). Seth has shaved his beard and looked quite young in the picture.
Becky is a regular on WWE TV and she won the Women's World Championship on Raw recently. She won the Battle Royal after Rhea Ripley was forced to vacate the title due to an injury.
What happened at Wrestlemania 40?
Seth Rollins was the MVP of Wrestlemania 40 and he gave it all at the Show of the Shows. Seth teamed up with Cody Rhodes against Roman Reigns and The Rock on the first day of the show. The Rock pinned Cody in the main event to earn a win for his team.
Their victory meant that the one-on-one match between Cody and Roman for the Undisputed Universal Championship was competed under the Bloodline rules.
Less than 24 hours after teaming up with Cody, Rollins put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Drew McIntyre. Drew defeated Rollins cleanly to win the title for the first time.
His title reign lasted just over five minutes as Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to win his maiden world championship. Drew decided to tease CM Punk after his title win.
This cost Drew and Punk attacked him. Damian ran out with the MITB briefcase and successfully cashed it to win the title. Drew is likely to challenge the champion at Clash at the Castle, scheduled to take place in Scotland. Rollins is confirmed to miss the UK show. While it's not confirmed, Rollins could return at Royal Rumble 2025.
