The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) continued their winning momentum as they got their second victory in a row, this time against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Just like LSG's last match against Punjab Kings, it was young express fast bowler Mayank Yadav who stole the show and decimated the RCB batting line up. Yadav has been grabbing the headlines for his fast deliveries, and now legendary South African fast bowler Dale Steyn has also praised the youngster.
Mayank Yadav took the wicket of star Australian all-rounder Cameron Green during the match, as he uprooted his stumps with a delivery that clocked a speed of 155.8 kmph. This was the third fastest delivery in the history of the IPL by an Indian bowler. Dale Steyn was mightily impressed by this express pace, and immediately took to his X account to praise the young Mayank Yadav.
"155,8 KPH! Mayank Yadav where have you been hiding!" Steyn posted on his X account.

Mayank Yadav was the wrecker-in-chief for LSG as RCB came out to bat in the second innings to chase a score of 182. He picked up the crucial wickets of Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green, as he finished with figures of 3/14 in his 4 overs. He thus won his second Player of the Match award in a row, as he helped LSG to win the match by 28 runs
He became the first bowler in history to bowl four deliveries in his IPL career over 155 kmph, thus eclipsing the likes of Umran Malik and Anrich Nortje, who have both done it only twice in his IPL career. Mayank's achievement is even more impressive, as he has managed to achieve this feat in an IPL career spanning just 48 deliveries.
In the post-match interview after winning the POTM award, he revealed that his aim is to play for India as much as possible. He also revealed that diet, sleep and training are required to bowl at this speed continuously.
"I feel very good, winning two POTM awards, but I am happier that we won both the matches. My aim is to play for India as much as possible. So I feel this is just the start and my main goal is what I am focussed on. [Favourite wicket?] Cameron Green's. I think to bowl at this speed, a lot of things are important. Diet, sleep, training. If you bowl fast, you have to be perfect in a lot of things. So right now I focus a lot on my diet and recovery," the young LSG pacer said.
