Royal Challengers Bengaluru are currently taking on Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2024, in what will be an absolutely exciting match-up. Perhaps the player that everyone is looking forward to, like in all matches involving RCB, is none other than Virat Kohli. Kohli has been in superb form throughout IPL 2024, as he made his triumphant return to cricket after a hiatus of two months. However, even before he has come into bat, Kohli has created yet another record in his already legendary career in the IPL for RCB.
Virat Kohli is now playing his 100th T20 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Kohli now becomes the first Indian player in history to play 100 matches in the shortest format of the game in a single venue. The closest to him is current Indian captain Rohit Sharma who has played 80 matches at Wankhede Stadium. Rohit is followed by the iconic MS Dhoni who has played 69 matches at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Indian players to play most T20s at a single venue:

100 - Virat Kohli at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
80 - Rohit Sharma at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
69 - MS Dhoni at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
Virat Kohli also has a shot at another piece of history as he needs 56 more runs in the match today, to become the first player in IPL history to score 7500 runs.
Virat Kohli has been on song for RCB in IPL 2024. He has scored 181 runs for 3 matches including two back to back helf centuries against Punjab Kings and the Kolkata Knight Riders.
In fact, Virat Kohli is an RCB icon, having notched up the most runs by a batter in IPL history (7444). In fact, he is the only player in history to play 17 seasons for one single franchise in the IPL.

Alzarri Joseph Dropped

The big news from the centre was that RCB won the toss against LSG and chose to bowl first. Alzarri Joseph, who has been out of form in the first three matches has been dropped and Reece Topley makes his IPL 2024 debut.
"We are going to chase. The previous game we played on here first innings it was slower. Some places it is patchy and dry. It really important to find some answers. We have had some really good conversations. It would be good if you keep learning from the mistakes. There is a touch of moisture and let's see how it goes. Topley comes in for Alzarri," captain Faf du Plessis said at the toss.
