Jude Bellingham, star Real Madrid midfielder, was out injured due to an ankle injury he sustained during the team's 4-0 win over Girona in February. Manager Carlo Ancelotti provided an update about his recovery on Friday. He said that the English player has made a full recovery and is ready to play.
Ancelotti also said that he will feature in Real Madrid's game against Valencia on Sunday. He also informed that striker Joselu is also back in full fitness.
“He (Bellingham) is 100 per cent. The truth is that he hasn’t trained much with the team but on an individual level he’s doing very well with his ankle. He is at full strength and tomorrow he will play," Ancelotti was quoted as saying by The Athletic.
Bellingham scored a brace in the game against Girona, finding the net 16 times in 21 La Liga appearances. He has scored 20 goals in 29 games in all competitions, claiming the bulk of goals for Los Blancos. He is also the top scorer in the league.
While Joselu returns to the squad, Dani Carvajal and Eduardo Camavinga will also make the trip after serving a suspension in their 1-0 win against Sevilla on Monday. “The closer we get to the end of the season, the more difficult it becomes. Obviously, we need our best version. Joselu, Bellingham, Camavinga, Carvajal are back. We have a chance to have a good game," Ancelotti added.
Real Madrid are currently six points clear of Girona at the top of the league table, losing only one game throughout their campaign. They are also ahead on the Round of 16 tie over RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League, heading into the second leg. They have not lost a game in the last eight encounters since losing 4-2 to Atletico Madrid in Copa del Rey on January 19.
