Bangalore’s MMA fighter Edukondal Rao

Bangalore-based MMA fighter Edukondal Rao will lock horns with Saudi Arabia's Abdullah Al Qahtani in the highly anticipated PFL vs Bellator champions mega event in Riyadh on Saturday. PFL heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira and Bellator heavyweight title holder Ryan Bader will square off in the main event. The winner between the two will claim the unified PFL and Bellator champion belt and will also face former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, also marking his return to MMA and PFL debut.
The event also marks the debut of Muhammad Ali’s grandson Biaggio Ali Walsh in the professional circuit at 155-pounds.
Speaking ahead of the event, Rao said “To represent India in such a prestigious event is an honor, but it's also a responsibility. I carry the hopes of my nation with me into the cage, and I'm determined to make them proud. With every fight, I hope to leave a legacy that transcends the confines of the cage. It's not just about winning; it's about leaving behind a lasting impression that inspires others to reach for greatness.”
PFL's acquisition of Bellator
In the current landscape of combat sports, fans hope to watch the best fighters pitted against the best. Newly designed Super Fight Championship belts and the future of PFL and Bellator highlight this spectacle of three-round super fights where elbows are legal and the winner-takes-all.
Apart from the promising main event, former heavyweight champ Bruno Cappelozza (15-6) welcomes former Bellator Light Heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov (17-2) to the 265-pound limit when they clash on February 24.
