Tyson McGuffin is all set to return to the pickleball court after missing out on the previous two events.
On Sunday, the 13-time PPA gold medalist took to social media to announce that his foot injury has completely been healed and he will be back on the court very soon. He wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Foot is back to 100% - I’m ready to rumble in North Carolina and get my season back on track!”
Next up for McGuffin is the Fanatics Sportsbook North Carolina Cup, which takes place from April 1–7. Along with Meghan Dizon, he will compete in men's singles, men's doubles with Dekel Bar, and mixed doubles.
"The most electrifying man in sports" seeks to add to the number of medals he already accumulated in 2024, one silver and one bronze medal.
On the other side, pickleball’s growing popularity has been so evident that more players have decided to join the PPA/MLP entity, a merger between the PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball.
Alix Truong, Hunter Johnson, Yates Johnson, Roscoe Bellamy, and Craig Johnson are the latest players to have signed deals with the merged entity.
Some of these athletes have spent most of their playing careers on the APP Tour, but going forward, they will only participate in PPA and MLP events. Given pickleball’s growing popularity, more players will come and join this bandwagon.
